WHAT NUTRIENTS AND AMINO ACIDS MAKE UP MIC/L-CARNITINE?

1. METHIONINE

Methionine is considered an “essential” amino acid because it cannot be made by the body and must be obtained from the diet. It can be found in foods such as turkey, beef, fish, egg whites, dairy, brazil nuts and quinoa. The body utilizes Methionine to make proteins and peptides, whose activities involve the protection of tissues and modifying your DNA to support health cell function.  

Methionine supports liver health, since it can be converted by our body into cysteine a precursor of Glutathione, which is essential in the detoxification of the liver.  Methionine also enhances the liver’s ability to process fatty acids, while also increasing the metabolic rate of tissues, therefore increasing the overall calories required that must be obtained from the body’s reserves. 

Methionine is required for normal growth and repair of body tissues it improves the tone and elasticity of the skin, promotes healthy hair and strengthens the nails.

In addition, it also helps the liver breakdown fat during metabolism. 

Another benefit of Inositol is that it is often used to reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety by boosting the levels of the neurotransmitter, Serotonin,  which promotes emotions of happiness and wellbeing.

3. CHOLINE

Choline is an essential nutrient that is necessary for controlling the buildup of fat and cholesterol in the body. It plays a pivotal role in regulating kidney, liver and gallbladder function. Choline helps to detoxify the liver and supports the breakdown of fat in the body which makes it easier to achieve weight loss. Choline also helps to improve metabolic health, regulate memory, mood, cell structure and messaging, DNA synthesis and supports the nervous system. 

Choline is found in a variety of foods such as beef & chicken liver, eggs, fresh cod, salmon, cauliflower, broccoli and soybean oil.  

4. L-CARNITINE

L-Carnitine is an amino acid formed in the liver and kidneys. It is considered a “conditionally essential” nutrient because the body produces it, however, at very low amounts, which are not enough to meet the body’s demands.  This nutrient is stored in muscles, the brain, and in sperm. You can get L-Carnitine from beef, pork, fish, chicken, animal products, milk, avocado, and soybeans. 

L-Carnitine works well with the other MIC components to help with weight loss. L-Carnitine shuttles fat into the mitochondria of cells where the fat is utilized to make FUEL (ATP).

A perk of L-Carnitine is that it works whether the body is at rest or exercising. It is however, especially effective during intense exercise. This is why, we recommend combining the supplementation of L-carnitine with an exercise program for optimal weight loss.
