Imbalanced Chakras???

Mental fog, low energy, lowtolerance for stress, sadness, depression, lack of motivation are all symptoms of imbalance. As human beings we are much more than the physical body which we inhabit. We are emotional, energetic, electric, magnetic and spiritual beings who are in constant change. And so acknowledging the imbalances can help us understand what our body needs. The Chakra system is made up of energetic points in our bodies, where energy can become trapped or blockedfrom flowing throughout our bodyproperly

Chakra means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are often described as  spinning disks of energy thatare meant to stay “open” in order for energy to flow freely through them. They correspond to bundles of nerves, organs, and areas in our body that are intertwined with our emotional and physical well-being.

1. Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine. The root chakra connects us to the earth. The earth provides us with nutrition, food, shelter that are essential for our survival. It is also the chakra associated with the release of bodily toxins.

Imbalanced root chakra:  Problems with legs, feet, rectum, tailbone, immune system, depression, autoimmune deficiencies

2. Sacral Chakra is located below the navel near the abdomen between the ovaries for women and near the prostate gland for men.

The main quality of the sacral chakra is pure creativity, attention, sensual expression, free of the ego.

Imbalanced sacral chakra: Can lead to eating disorders, urinary tract problems, reproductive disorders, occasional headache, fever and emotional imbalances.

3. The 3rd chakra or the solar plexus chakra is the center of emotions and positive self control.

Imbalanced solar plexus: Feeling of unworthy and low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, doubtful and mistrusting toward others, poor digestion, ulcers, diabetes, liver or kidney problems, anorexia, & bulimia.

4. Heart Chakra is the center of love, compassion and forgiveness of our body’s energy system.

Imbalanced heart chakra: Feeling disconnected and having trouble loving ourselves and others, poor circulation, lack empathy on the emotional level, and lack devotion on the spiritual level.

Issues of love, grief, hatred, anger, jealousy, fears of betrayal, of loneliness, as well as the ability to heal ourselves and others are centered in the fourth chakra.

5. Throat chakra is responsible for self-expression and communication. When this chakra is functioning at its full capacity our speech is clear and becomes uplifting and wise.

Imbalanced throat chakra: Thyroid problems, laryngitis, codependency on the emotional level, unclear thoughts, insecurity, speak without thinking and have trouble expressing ourselves in an authentic way, nervousness, fear and anxiety.

6. Sixth Chakra or the Third Eye is associated with intuition and the pineal gland.

Imbalanced 6th chakra:  Lack in imagination, lack of intuition resulting in poor decision making and self-deception,  eye/ear problems, headaches, migraines, insomnia, or even nightmares.

7. Crown Chakra connects us to the universal divine energy. This chakra is associated with wisdom, enlightenment and transcendence.

When our crown chakra is open we experience divine union and cosmic love, stretching out forever.

Imbalanced crown chakra: Feeling disconnected spiritually, as though we are living without any direction or purpose, depression, nervous system disorders, migraines, amnesia, ADD, dyslexia, and in the most extreme cases cognitive delusions and mental illness.

There’s many ways one can support the seven chakras system. Practices such as yoga, meditation, reiki, craniosacral therapy, naturopathic care, chiropractic care, acupuncture amongst many others are amazing therapies to incorporate.

As naturopathic doctors we offer an individualized approach, addressing physical and emotional imbalances that the individual may be dealing with.
